Getting Started Guide

This guide takes you from download to a working form in a few minutes.

Before you start

    • A WordPress site where you have administrator access.
    • Gravity Forms installed and activated, with your own valid license. Check the product page for any add-ons a Template needs. Hiring us? Our Gravity Forms Elite License covers your site while we work together. See Professional Services.
    • A free Gravity Built account. Create one here or log in.

Step by step

    1. Get the Template. Open the Form Library, choose a Template and click the purchase button. Free Templates check out at $0.
    2. Download it. After checkout, use the download link on the confirmation page or open My Account at any time. You must be logged in. Downloads are limited per purchase and links expire after 24 hours, so you can always generate a fresh link from My Account.
    3. Unzip the file. The download is a .zip containing a .json form file and may include notes. Gravity Forms needs the .json file itself, not the zip.
    4. Import the form. In your WordPress admin, go to Forms → Import/Export → Import Forms, choose the .json file and click Import.
    5. Add it to a page. Edit a page, add the Gravity Forms block and pick the imported form, or use the shortcode

Oops! We could not locate your form.

      with your form’s ID.
    6. Set up notifications. Under Forms → your form → Settings → Notifications, set where submissions should be emailed.
    7. Test it. Submit a test entry, check the email and the entry under Forms → Entries, and make sure any totals and conditional steps behave the way you expect.

Customizing estimator rates

Calculator Templates keep their prices and multipliers in fields inside the form, usually hidden. To change a rate, open the field in the form editor, go to the Advanced tab and edit its Default Value. Each field’s description explains what it controls.

Troubleshooting

    • “This file could not be downloaded.” Make sure you are logged in, then get a fresh link from My Account. The link may have expired or the download limit may have been reached.
    • The import says the file is invalid. You most likely uploaded the .zip. Unzip it first and import the .json file.
    • A field or feature is missing after import. The Template may need a Gravity Forms add-on. Check the product page and your Gravity Forms license.
    • The form looks different from the demo. Forms inherit your theme’s styling, so some spacing and colors can differ. Your theme or custom CSS can adjust them.
